PHILADELPHIA – Michael A. Brown, president & CEO of Environmental Construction Services, Inc. (ECSI) of Philadelphia, founded the company in 2010 with a $10,000 investment and two employees. The firm has grown to more than $4 million and 30 employees, including subsidiary Element Mechanical, in three years with help from SBA and its resource partners as well as the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
MICHAEL A. BROWN, who pulled himself up by his bootstraps to become founder/president of Environmental Construction Services in the Far Northeast, said yesterday that he is moving his company to Oxford Circle to make it a job-providing “pillar of the community.”
Brown said that in 2010 when he founded the company – which retrofits businesses to reduce their energy costs – people told him he couldn’t find skilled employees in Philadelphia. Read more
